Looking for talented Afro-Diasporic artists between the ages of 17-35, with a passion for teaching youth, to be a part of our 2012/2013 workshop series. By participating in our new Art of Facilitation program, you will acquire, enhance and refine your facilitation skills and graduates from this program will have the opportunity to get paid to facilitate Nia Centre programs across the city over the course of 6 months! So whether you have facilitated before or have never transferred your skills to an audience, Nia Centre will assist you in creating an engaging workshop experience that everyone will love.
We are looking for artists in the areas of :
- Visual art
- Spoken word
- Graphic art
(Other art forms are always welcome)
In order to participate and graduate from this program, you will have to attend 6 mandatory facilitator training workshops over the course of 3 Saturdays in September from 11:00am-4:30pm. The interactive and engaging workshops will train you in the areas of facilitation, workshop planning, documentation, evaluation, creating safe and inclusive spaces and presentation skills. In addition to this training, you will have the chance to be mentored by an artist in your field and receive a Nia Centre Art of Facilitation certificate!
